I know there is a "Huge Spoiler" warning... but when I was editing this page I couldn't help but see it. This is realy quite an obnoxious spoiler. Perhaps it should be hiden (as in link to the quest from the Theives guild where you find that out?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lorenz03tx (talkcontribs).

I agree. I haven't got to this quest, and I was kind of disappointed to stumble across this info. Yes, I saw the spoiler warning, and I've given up on really being un-spoiled while playing the game, but still I was, well, disappointed. I'd recommend an entry like:
The count of Anvil and Countess Umbranox's long lost husband. If you pursue the Thieves Guild quests, you have an opportunity to locate him.
Then under quests, just link to the single(?) quest where he is introduced using this name.
IMHO, spoiler info should only be spelled out in one place (i.e., in the details of a quest page, where you go looking for spoilers), and everywhere else should be circumspect and just refer readers to the spoiler-filled page. Even if you post a "spoiler" warning elsewhere, I find those warnings insufficient. You don't really want to just say "stop reading", you want to say "stop reading unless you've already done quest x". Then the reader has enough info to know whether the spoiler tag is directed at him/her or not. My two cents, since you got me thinking about the topic...--Nephele 13:32, 20 July 2006 (EDT)
Well, I hid the spoiler a bit better. What do you think about making a template out of that? The "Huge spoiler warning", followed by the spoiler text appearing in white between two lines. Seems like it should be simple enough to set up... --TheRealLurlock 14:45, 20 July 2006 (EDT)
Two concerns. First, when you're editing the page, or looking at page history you're still going to see the spoiler info; that's why I'm in favor of just not spelling it out unless really necessary (OK, presumably you're only editing this page if you know alot about this guy, but more as a general principle). Second, I really think spoiler warnings need some context. To me the point of a spoiler tag is to say "there's info ahead that I think some of you want to read (otherwise I wouldn't even be posting it), but many of you don't want to read". But if you just say "spoiler" readers have no way of knowing whether they fall in the I-should-read-this or I-shouldn't-read-this group: they have to actually read the information to find out, and then it's too late. So that's why I think somehow referring to the Thieves Guild quest line is useful. Whenever I see Thieves Guild (or Dark Brotherhood, or plugin, etc.) I know to stop reading, because I haven't finished those quests yet.--Nephele 15:05, 20 July 2006 (EDT)
Well it is important to rember that you edit pages for more than just page specfic context. Like I was adding bread crumbs to this page for instance. I don't need to know anything aobut this guy to do that. And while those changes are few and far between, there is always grammar and typo fixes (plus vandalism defense). --Lorenz03Tx 18:19 20 July 2006

I'm suggesting any continued conversation on the how-to's of spoilers should be done at Template:Spoiler, since this has evolved into a far more general conversation than just Corvus' plight.--Nephele 22:00, 20 July 2006 (EDT)

Hmm, I was going to put the list of related quests on this page, but that would of course be another major spoiler. Come to think of it, even the phrase "long lost husband" already spoils a bit of it. I'm starting to think maybe this page shouldn't exist at all. Just make a page for - umm, his alter-ego (trying not to spoil it here too...) and let any other info about him be listed there? This character and his identiy is one of the biggest spoilers in the game (at least for those not related to the Main Quest), so it's pretty hard to talk about him at all without revealing a little bit... --TheRealLurlock 01:04, 25 July 2006 (EDT)

"Long lost husband" for me isn't a spoiler: you hear that info from townspeople without doing any questlines. I agree his alter-ego needs a page, and most of the quests should be listed there (and the spoiler can link to that page). But presumably there's just one quest where his real name gets revealed (I haven't done any of that quest line, so I'm ignorant); would listing that one quest here be too much of a spoiler? FYI, the other spoilerish NPC I've been trying to figure out is Janus Hassildor... Similar problems, but yet not quite the same. I haven't done anything about it yet, though. --Nephele 01:52, 25 July 2006 (EDT)

[edit] Isn't he essential?

From what I understand the Gray Fox becomes mortal upon completion of "The Ultimate Heist" but is nowhere to be found(he becomes Corvus). Corvus isn't tagged essential, and Millona Umbranox becomes mortal as well if I'm right. But I read somewhere that the Count of Bravil is the only killable count in the game. Isn't this contradicting? --Sundaroct131088 08:36, 30 August 2007 (EDT)

Corvus is never tagged as an essential character. If it states somewhere else that the Count of Bravil is the only killable count in the game, then that statement is wrong. A more accurate statement would probably be that he is the only count who is killable at the start of the game (although I haven't checked that fact myself). --NepheleTalk 12:40, 30 August 2007 (EDT)
Corrected it, thanks. --Sundaroct131088 13:10, 30 August 2007 (EDT)
