[edit] Marana's Favorite Coin

Are there any unforeseen problems if you decide to keep the coin instead? Aside from the obvious inability to receive any training from her. A real pack-rat may prefer holding onto this tiny (and droppable) trophy. After all, Sneak isn't too difficult a skill to train.

If there's some sort of "disappearing coin" glitch, or if it has a tendency to drop through furniture/flooring, that's another story.

The only problem is that you can't complete the quest so it'll always be in your journal. Unfortunately after completing the quest the coin disappears (because it's removed from the player's inventory but not added anywhere else). If you're on the PC you can add a copy by using the console command player.additem 000613c0 1. It doesn't seem to fall through surfaces or anything like that. –RpehTCE 02:40, 11 January 2008 (EST)
A little playtesting revealed one thing of interest: after pickpocketing Marana's Coin, I laundered it through a fence and duplicated the coin (the coin is not a quest item, so it can be dropped; and it is worth 1 gold, so it can be sold and bought again). With two of Marana's Coins in my inventory, the "Training" topic no longer showed up in my conversation with her. But, as soon as I dropped the extra coin (seeing to it that there was only 1 coin in my inventory), the topic returned; the quest completed, I scooped up the duplicate coin as my own keepsake.—Dark Spark 16:31, 18 April 2008 (EDT)

What rules of pickpocketing does the master training section refer to? 99.238.44.36 21:46, 10 September 2008 (EDT)

Follow the link. It means rules on chance of success, detection and so on. –RpehTCE 03:11, 11 September 2008 (EDT)
