[edit] Eye Color

This has been marked as a question that needs to be answered. There seems to be a debate about the eye color of reanimated victims. I go with blue-black: see these examples...

That's all with a fully-patched, UOP-ed version. Can someone give details of their red-eyed versions? –RpehTCE 10:22, 2 November 2008 (EST)

I can remember that in my game (360) all reanimated eyes are red. Perhaps this is a side-effect of the UOP?--LordDagonT|C 10:42, 2 November 2008 (EST)
In my 360 version of the game, eye colors are reddish-pink as described in the article. I don't know it it's a mod or the UOP on pc versions, but every reanimated character in my version has reddish-pink eyes.--penguin0719 10:49, 2 November 2008 (EST)
I'm rocking the PC version (the most recent patch being the one that fixed that ID problem after Shivering Isles' release) over here and have the black/blue eyes as well. Are you sure this isn't an issue with the 360 version as opposed to the PC version? I've checked in the construction set and the eyes are definitely supposed to be that colour based on the image files I've found. --KatzMotel 15:48, 29 December 2008 (EST)
PC Version here and I get blue-black eyes too. I've added tge Good Question tag to see if we can get more concrete information for the XBox 360 (and the PS3). So far we have one "reddish-pink" and one remembrance. Any more definite info? Dr Jones 16:54, 29 December 2008 (EST)
XBOX 360 has Pink eyes. I believe it's the UOP that changes the eye color. DaedryonTCE 21:27, 29 December 2008 (EST)
Wait, is Reanimate the spell that the Staff of Worms uses? Because when using the Staff of Worms, eye color is Pink (360) DaedryonTCE 21:30, 29 December 2008 (EST)

(outdent) It's nothing to do with the UOP. I just tried in a vanilla game and still got the blue-black eyes. –RpehTCE 15:24, 30 December 2008 (EST)

Well then maybe it's a console difference? PC has blue-black, and 360 has Red. Try installing Oblivion, KotN, SI, and all the official plugins, then doing it again and see what colour the eyes are, because that's what XBOX 360 is like. All official stuff only, no UOP patches. [edit] Attacking?

There's some conflicting information on the page: "Revived characters will never attack you no matter how many times they are hit by you" " A reanimated guard may help other guards if they are attacking you."

82.95.155.246 11:03, 6 January 2009 (EST)

I see where you were confused, but it means that, unlike summons and followers, there's no three-hit rule, that is to say, if you strike your follower or summoner 3 times, in or out of combat, they will turn on you and strike. However, reanimated characters won't do this. Although, if they would help others, then that is seen as "assisting allies", instead of "attacking controller". If you'd like, I'll change it to something more understandable (than what I said myself, too).Lovless510 03:51, 11 January 2009 (EST)
I can't hit my follower. Spells and Weapons pass through them like they're not there. --Darkheart 20:35, 18 June 2009 (EDT)

[edit] spellmaking.

So am I right in thinking its impossible to create a "Reanimate" spell at a spellmaking Altar?--Repeater 14:00, 18 April 2009 (EDT)

Yes. That would be why the article states: "Even if you obtain the Risen Flesh power, it is not possible to create custom spells or enchantments using this effect." --NepheleTalk 14:53, 18 April 2009 (EDT)
Both- if you're on a PC you can use your TES construction set. Load the Oblivion master file, select Magic Effects from the Gameplay menu. Type "rean" to scroll through and get the reanimate effect. Click the box for spellmaking and/or enchanting. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.176.71.45 (talkcontribs) on 31 July 2009.
If you change the game, then of course you can make it possible. The article is talking about an unmodded game. –rpehTCE 08:10, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Does this bug exist?

The article says that all of the items on a reanimated NPC's corpse respawn when the effect expires. Suppose, for a minute, that I initially kill Umbra without her dropping her sword (or some other NPC with a powerful weapon), so it's still technically on her corpse when she dies. Will this this weapon respawn every time I reanimate her?

No. It says that items that are created when a character dies are recreated. Umbra had Umbra before she died, so it was not created when she died, so it will not be re-created. --24.128.153.192 22:43, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Beyond the call of Duty

Has anyone ever had it where a resurrected guard would suddenly start running and checking all the bodies you just made from a massacre, and then attempt to arrest you? I think it happened when my bounty was high enough for him to run up and arrest me. --65.87.242.28 02:38, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

I've had this happen to me. I resurrected the guard, and as he was floating upwards, he proceeded to arrest me, but kept floating. I left the dialogue there for a few minutes until he was about 100 feet above ground. I resisted arrest, and he fell and died again... I tried to get this to happen again but it appeared to be a one time thing. --Mptrj 02:44, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
Well, if you read the article...
For example, if you are fighting off Imperial Guards, kill one, and reanimate it with your Staff of Worms, it may begin attacking you, because it's helping its fellow faction members.
...you find out why. --Elliot(T-C) 09:44, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
No no no. He didn't attack me. He arrested me. As in "STOP! YOU VIOLATED THE LAW!" And to the second guy, the exact same thing happened to me, except he got caght on a roof, so he didn't fall and die. --65.87.242.28 06:13, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
