Talk Pages and Etiquette[edit]

The reason Nephele (and I) deleted your comments on Oblivion talk:The Path of Dawn is that talk pages are supposed to be for discussions about improving the main article or questions about the things being described. They are not for personal stories about glitches. If everybody who saw that AI doing something strange posted it, the site would crash under the load.

Secondly, please don't leave edit summaries like this or talk page comments like these. You're insulting the editor who probably knows more about Oblivion than any other, and one who has been an admin for several years and knows exactly what kind of comments do and do not belong. –RpehTCE 04:55, 7 December 2008 (EST)

More on IRC[edit]

So you just PMed this to a user on IRC (expletives deleted):

<Daedryon> Hey, got abit of an...well...guess you can call it an apology, for ya.
<Daedryon> (A)F*** off, leave UESP alone. Just because I have a chat client to this chat server doesn't mean I'm associated with UESP (B)Take your little chat bans and shove em up your f*****' a**.

I've, again, apologised to the user and asked the ops for suggestions. Frankly, at list point my suggestion to you is that you stop posting on this site or IRC until you can learn to have some regard for the other users.

I don't like to have to apologise for people I don't even know, and rest assured my patience is not an infinite reserve. If you do not stop harassing members of the IRC channel I will consider it "disruption of this site" and you will be blocked from posting on this site. –RpehTCE 17:08, 7 December 2008 (EST)

Neart agus Onóir[edit]

Hiya I know this pretty random but I saw at the top of your page "Neart agus Onóir" which means in Irish "Strength and Honor" if I'm not mistaken. But I was just wondering are you Irish, because of that? 07:32, 20 December 2008 (EST)

Excuse me?[edit]

Why did you revert my Lore:Ashlanders edit without any explanation at all? The sentence I changed was questionable in a number of ways, from the wrong spelling of traveler to the fact that most outcast camps are found in places other than the Grazelands, because ashlanders, you know, often turn up in the ashlands. As for the mines, you can tell an ashlander by their inimitable names, and given the hostility and traditionalism of the clans, it is highly unlikely that any member of a clan would work in an Imperial or even House Dunmer mine. The same goes for the ashlanders you find in Gnisis, a mining town. The Imperials and Redoran don't use slaves, so they hire ashlanders and Altmer foremen.76.179.191.245 21:04, 22 December 2008 (EST)

Template problems[edit]

Although I can't look into the details easily right now (iPhones have some limitations), I'm pretty sure the source of your problem is the = sign in one of the links that you added. The equal sign is being interpreted by the template as a symbol separating the parameter name from its contents. To fix the problem, you should just be able to add 2= at the start of the whole section of text, which will force the template to see everything from that point on as the text to be displayed. --NepheleTalk 00:45, 26 December 2008 (EST)

Rollback on "weapons" page[edit]

Daedryon, I can understand why you rolled back the change I made on the weapons page (suggesting that a link to SI weapons be added). However, there's a backstory to this you're probably not aware of.

A question recently came up in the forums as to whether SI weapons were considered "normal weapons" for the purpose of "resist normal weapons" calculations. More than a dozen people weighed in with no definitive conclusion; furthermore the weapons' "normal" status is not stated clearly anywhere on UESP. (A big part of the reason for this is that it's not apparent that the "resist normal weapons" page encompasses SI. SI isn't mentioned, or linked to, at all there.) It wasn't until we did in-game tests that we figured it out.

When I added a comment to the SI weapons page to clarify this, it was nevertheless removed for being "redundant". My next course of action thus was to suggest adding an SI weapons link to the Oblivion weapons page. The Oblivion weapons page is itself linked to the "Resist Normal Weapons" page, so I thought this would sufficiently clarify the issue.

Anyway, to avoid having this question come up again, and to improve the UESP, I believe a change needs to be made either to the Weapons, SI Weapons, or Resist Normal Weapons page to clarify this. Your call.

Thanks, "BFG"
