[edit] Enemy NPC aggression
How much aggression do Bandits, Marauders, Necros, Conjurers and Dremora have? I'm trying to raise their dispositions permanently so they would become friendly but using lower magnitude spells doesn't work and using higher magnitude spells maxes out their disposition so I can't even start the persuasion minigame. I understand necros will be slightly tougher because they hate Mages Guild members. --Sundaroct131088 10:35, 8 September 2007 (EDT)
- Necromancers (although not all) have a penalty of -30 disposition towards Mages Guild members. However, almost all Bandits, Marauders, Necromancers, Conjurers and Dremora have a Aggression of 100. So do Knights of Order, Heretics, Zealots, Vampires, Blind Moth Priests and Argonian Tribesmen. Essentially, if it is intended for an NPC to try and kill you, it will generally have an aggression of 100. --Saruuk 18:51, 8 September 2007 (EDT)
- Thanks. I finally got a Bandit Hedge Wizard to accept me. --Sundaroct131088 19:49, 8 September 2007 (EDT)
Hey I am a vampire and a mages guild member. that makes the necromancers have a -130 desposition towards me. Nothing else attacks me, even dremora or even creatures, undead, daedra, vampires etc. but necromancer's still attack me. I use the permanent effect glitch and got my personality to 439. The necromancers still attack me. How high will I have to raise the personality to stop necromancers attacking me.
- As the Disposition page says, "every 4 point boost in Personality increases NPC dispositions by 1 point". If Necromancers have a -130 penalty towards you, you need a personality of 130*4 = 520. You may need a bit more even than that though. –Rpeh•T•C•E• 13:28, 4 February 2008 (EST)
- Aah, thanks, but wouldnt that mean I would have to get my personality to around 1000? i would have tought that if I got it to 520, It would only get there desposition to 0, Which I doubt would be enough.
- If anyone can, Would they please find the aggression level of a necromancer, thanks.
Ok this is strange, I got my personality up to 1025, and yet the necromancers still attack me, even jalbert, who is part of the undead faction, who have a +100 desposition with vampires, attacked me. Is there any script effects on Necromancers?
- You might be a vampire but you're not in the vampire faction so you don't get a boost there. I don't know why the personality thing isn't working but should work eventually. –Rpeh•T•C•E• 16:07, 4 February 2008 (EST)
[edit] Interesting but vague
The text is very unclear.
1. "If your disposition or any other NPC's disposition drops five points below the NPC's aggression, the NPC will attack." I'm sure this should read: "If the NPC's disposition towards you or any other NPC drops five points below his aggression, he will attack."
2. "NPCs with an aggression below 5 will never attack" So what do NPCs with an aggression of exactly 5 do? Does this mean "5 or lower" or "4 or lower"?
3. "NPCs with an aggression above 6 or more" This is bad language: one should either say "6 or more" or "above 6". However these things mean different things: "above 6" does not include 6. Therefore from the current formulation it is not clear whether or not NPCs with an aggression of exactly 6 may attack.
[edit] Console
I think it would be useful to add in console instructions as to how to change aggression of an npc. (setav aggression n) 203.91.84.7 05:56, 30 May 2008 (EDT)
- As a general rule, we try to avoid posting console instructions in main articles unless they're necessary to fix a bug of some kind. I wrapped code tags around your instructions above, though, so at least they'll stand out more here on the talk page. --Robin Hood (Talk • E-mail • Contribs) 15:48, 4 June 2008 (EDT)
