Fort Cuptor

Fort Cuptor is a medium fort far east of Bravil containing necromancers. [edit] It contains two zones: Fort Cuptor and Fort Cuptor Battlemains.

[edit] Notes

  • On a table not far from the entrance are some zero-weight Child Overalls, which can be picked up but are marked as not "playable" and will not appear in your inventory.
  • The first zone is quite simple and consists of two chambers and the corridor linking them.
  • The second zone, unlike the first, is quite complex. It consists mainly of a small room with four corridors looping around it and another chamber in NW corner. A sizeable part of this level is underneath the zone proper and can only be accessed by falling through the various grates in the corridors (if you try to enter it by going through gate (F) it will close down once you approach it).

[edit] Exterior

Key to Maps
Map of Fort Cuptor Exterior
  • The exterior is located at coordinates: Tamriel 44, -7
  • This location's map marker (M on map) is named Fort Cuptor (editor name FortCuptorMapMarker). The entrance door is E of the marker, 10 feet away.
  • 0-2 Mud Crabs are near the entrance
  • 1 Nirnroot is at location N on map
  • 1 Wilderness Chest 01 (non-respawning) is near the entrance
  • The following plants can be found near the entrance: 1 Columbine plant, 16 Foxglove plants, 10 Green Stain Cup plants, and 13 Summer Bolete plants
  • Note that to reach the chest in the exterior you will have to jump from the hill on to the broken walls and then continue to the small rampart where you will find the chest.

[edit] Zone 1: Fort Cuptor

Fort Cuptor
The lair in the south east

You start in this level at an intersection: left is a chamber with one to two enemies and two chests while right is the most of the level. Turn right and right again to reach the entrance (C) to the second zone.

Continue straight to reach a small room with a stone bed (b) and a table with a open coffin containing a child's skeleton as well as his overalls. To activate gate (D) use the switch found on the wall opposite it (cyan dot on the map) and access a large chamber containing two stone altars with Headless zombie corpses.

Occupants:

  • 1 Necromancer
  • 3-5 Necromancer Enemies (each 50% probability Necromancer, 50% Undead)

Treasure:

Doors and Gates:

  • There are two doors in/out of this zone
    • 1 door (at Out) leads outside
    • 1 door (at C) leads out of dungeon to Fort Cuptor Battlemains
  • 1 Portcullis Gate at D

Other:

  • 1 sleeping slab at location b on map

[edit] Zone 2: Fort Cuptor Battlemains

Fort Cuptor Battlemains

To the left of door C is a large chamber containing a bed (b), the Boss Chest (B), a Mysticism skill book (D) and some clusters of non-random loot. Be careful not to miss the sack in the alcove in the far wall.

Making your way counterclockwise is the best option, but be mindful as you could wind up fighting against up to four enemies at the same time. Continue along the corridors and make sure not to fall down the grates. From the two side corridors you can enter a small room containing a bedroll (b).

Be wary of the enemy positioned in an alcove in the third corridor (the one leading to gate F). It is hidden by two large tapestries, which might prevent it from moving, and therefore reaching you. It can be consequently killed from a safe distance.

To further advance in the level you will have to fall down one of the grates: the one directly to the left of door C when entering is the best choice. After you have fallen down go right and activate the switch you find, which in turn will activate gate (F). Continue until you reach the NE corner from which you can re-enter the level. Do not underestimate this portion of the level as it could be full of Undead enemies and there is little space to maneuver.

Unless you can kill the enemies in this zone with sneak attacks it is possible to alert the enemies in the lower level making clearing it out later slightly more difficult.
