Quick Walkthrough

1. Go to Moorside Inn in Morthal.
2. Locate and kill Lurbuk.
3. Return to Nazir.

Detailed Walkthrough

This is a very simple assassination. Lurbuk is not known to ever leave the Moorside Inn, and can easily be picked off with an arrow when he isn't performing.

If you're having difficulty killing him while he's in the common room, you can wait until he either sits in the corner of his room or goes to sleep late at night. There should be no one else in the room, so a single sneak attack with stealth should be enough to eliminate him silently. You can also ask the innkeeper to rent a bed. When she shows you your room, you can kill Lurbuk without her seeing it. Another way is to enter sneak mode and use a Frenzy spell on him. Provided that you are not seen, this will cause everyone in the inn to see Lurbuk as a hostile, causing them to attack and kill him for you.

Like most assassination targets, you may choose to have a conversation with Lurbuk before killing him:

Notes

• If you have started but not yet completed the quest Laid To Rest, Lurbuk may still be standing outside of Movarth's Lair. For this reason, it is recommended that you either dismiss the townspeople or finish Laid To Rest. Otherwise, you will be spotted when killing Lurbuk and thus incur a bounty.
• If you ask Nazir for additional information, he will tell you that Lurbuk is so hated that he had multiple Brotherhood contracts out on him and Astrid had to hold a lottery to decide who was able to put in the contract.

Notes

• Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g., <Alias=LocationHold>) is dynamically set by the Radiant Quest system, and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
• Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
• Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
• If an entry is marked as "Finishes Quest" it means the quest disappears from the Active Quest list, but you may still receive new entries for that quest.
• On the PC, it is possible to use the console to advance through the quest by entering setstage DBSideContract05 stage, where stage is the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) quest stages, but it is possible to clear all stages of the quest using resetquest DBSideContract05.
