Pell's Gate is a village with an inn south of the Imperial City (quest-related). [edit]

The village used to be the home of Umbra, and is your first stop while on Clavicus Vile's quest.

Although the town contains an "inn" of sorts, namely The Sleeping Mare, a glitch prevents the publican from renting the beds. If you want to spend the night anyway you can pick the lock on the bedroom doors upstairs, which is not actually a crime, and sleep in the unowned bed.
