[edit] Cities Vs. Miscellaneous Quests

I saw that someone had boken out a cities subsection for quests, so I put the miscellaneous quests that had been entered into the City structurre. I didn't remove the miscellaneus or the links to the individual quests yet. But I think We might need to great a "Places" page with categories for cities, ruins, etc. And then from each city information page (because presumably there will be enough infor ABOUT Chorrol for it to have an info page) we could link to a City quests sub page (which could also be linked off of the quests walkthrough page. Meaning that we should rename these pages from Oblivion:Chorrol to Oblivion:Chorrol:Quests or some such, yeah? --MItchy 16:23, 22 March 2006 (EST)

Just a quick comment before I get some sleep, but you can't do Oblvion:Chorrol:Quests as this breaks the namespace, see UESPWiki:Namespaces. Endareth 07:57, 30 March 2006 (EST)
Oh I see now, I didn't get the whole namespace thing. Well but still there surely is a way to organize that right, so that there is a way that a person wanting to learn about Chorrol, doesn't have to go through the Quests page to find info? --MItchy 08:11, 30 March 2006 (EST)
Especially since the quests area is spolier and a places area could be info. --MItchy 22:04, 3 April 2006 (EDT)
Oh I see it's already done. Forget my last comment. And this one too. Well not until you forget the one before it though. --MItchy 22:04, 3 April 2006 (EDT)
I always prefer hierarchy so Oblivion:Places:Cities:Chorrol would be my choice, but I get the reasoning for implementing the opposite. :) FMan 08:01, 5 April 2006 (EDT)

I'm just surprised that no one has created a list of quests that should be tackled at specific character levels, such that the leveled items (etc.) are maximized for their highest possible values. For instance:

[edit] Water Breathing

Does anyone know where I can get a Water Breathing Necklace? I got one on my other account in a quest... but I just don't know which quest! Can anyone help me? Tegz

You're probably thinking of Go Fish. --NepheleTalk 09:43, 25 April 2007 (EDT)

I know of a light armor helmet that will let you breathe under water and gives you night eye when your wearing it. Its called the fin gleam helmet. It is found by the island off the coast south west of Anvil. It is pretty much impossible to find on your own unless your very lucky to find it. Its located at the bottom of the ocean. Theres a walk through on youtube to find it. Just search "Fin gleam walkthrough." Or copy and paste this link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6SwxNDYRzQ Hope that helps.

There's also a map off this page in the site that should help you find it. Rpeh 07:48, 14 June 2007 (EDT)

[edit] Spoiler warning?

I thought the whole of the Wiki was considering itself a spoiler? It seems a bit silly to try to cordon off sections as spoiler when so much of the infor provided could be considered spoilerish. --MItchy 01:51, 30 March 2006 (EST)

True to a degree, but the difference in information really comes down to info available to people in the world, as against info relating to actions taken by the character, e.g. quests. Endareth 07:57, 30 March 2006 (EST)
Agreed, but what I'm suggesting is for us to consider the entirety of the Wiki as a place of spoilers, and put a warning to that effect on the entry page. --MItchy 08:11, 30 March 2006 (EST)
I totally disagree. The Quests portion is a clear spoiler, but the basic gameplay and hint pages are not so much spoilers. Of course they reveal _information_ that you would normally find out playing the game, but say nothing of the events, quests and what you have to do - and that's the way it should be kept: no quest information outside the Quests domain. --FMan 03:30, 2 April 2006 (EDT)
You should really have to actually click on a quest page before any actual spoiler info is shown. Very few of the quest names give any real clue as to what's going on. I don't think anything other than the contents of a quest would really be considered a spoiler. Endareth 02:48, 5 April 2006 (EDT)
Yeah, I think the quest names are cool. What about revealing in the Houses page what you need to do to be able to buy it (=inform of the quest's content, rather than linking to it so each user can decide if he/she/it wants to find out now)? I am willing to admit the entire site is a spoiler to a degree, while still insisting that quest descriptions are spoilers to a conciderably higher degree. FMan 08:01, 5 April 2006 (EDT)

[edit] Namespaces and conventions

Honestly, people! Try to remember to specify the Oblivion namespace when creating new pages and follow the alphabetizing and other conventions, on a page you edit, and general rules. I corrected these for the Anvil Quests, but dunno if all others are messed as well... --FMan 17:34, 2 April 2006 (EDT)

While I'm completely in favour of people using correct formatting and grammar, I feel it's even more importance that the info exists in the first place. I'd rather see a misspelt page with a single huge sentence describing ever step in a quest -- and have to format it all myself and move the page -- rather than no new page at all... Endareth 02:51, 5 April 2006 (EDT)
I'm not sure if I followed your long sentence. :P I was referring mainly to all the added quest pages missing the Oblivion namespace definition and didn't even mention grammar there. By the way, you should say "it's _of_ even more importance". ;---) I know, I'm neurotic and I must not impose my neurosis on others. :) Actually, I think the quality of the work done by all the people toward the wiki is very high and I'm personally thankful to all who have provided information here! --FMan 08:01, 5 April 2006 (EDT)

[edit] Two Suggestions

One, remove the spoiler/discussion above. After reading it, I'm now not even looking forward to completing the main quest (after doing all the side/city/guild quests). (And yes, I'm all for immersion rather than hack-n-slash...read every book I found in Morrowind, and looking forward to reading any more I find as I haven't even completed Morrowind yet...now that's immersion!).

Two, create a link under Quests, "Other Quests" for finding all the Wayshrines as part of the so-called "Pilgrimage of the Nine Divines" since there is a Reward after finding them all. Might even add one for finding all the Heaven Stones (whose powers don't go away when you find and use a different one like they do for the Birthstones).

My humble 2¢ ~<}:^> --GreyElf 23:18, 10 July 2006 (EDT)

Request number two done: see Oblivion:Miscellaneous Quests. As for number one, I've avoided reading any of that section, so I don't feel qualified to judge whether it should stay. FYI, came across this while trying to assemble a general discussion about spoilers at Template talk:Spoilers that may end up being relevant.--Nephele 19:01, 20 July 2006 (EDT)
Request one done as well. Although this is a spoiler area, I don't think the entire ending should be spoilt for a reader who comes here looking for a walkthrough to a side-quest. --Actreal 18:36, 12 August 2006 (EDT)

[edit] Oblivion Gate quests suggestion

I'm not sure I can find all quests regarding the Oblivion gate quest when I'm enter them on this site.--ShakenMike 19:59, 21 February 2007 (EST)

Are you trying to find information about closing all Oblivion Gates? You are not required to close all gates, so they aren't actually quests, and most are randomly generated. For links to an explanation of closing each random Oblivion Gate, see Random Worlds. For links to the quest page that is associated with each fixed Oblivion Gate, see Fixed Gates. Let me know if that helps, or if I'm completely off base. --GuildKnight 19:39, 22 February 2007 (EST)

That will help me and this doesn't go with the main quest of the game or is it optional.--ShakenMike 16:45, 23 February 2007 (EST)

[edit] Plug-ins question

When you complete quests that are plug-in related, (KoTN, Shivering Isles) do they appear as completed quests in that section of your journal, and add up to the total of 199? --Merco 15:17, 5 November 2007 (EST)

[edit] Journal stages?

What does the stages column mean in all of the journal entries tables added to the Quest pages? Thanks for any help! Hophi 20:50, 13 January 2008 (EST)

As it says in the notes under each set of journal entries: "On the PC, it is possible to use the console to advance through the quest by entering setstage quest stage. Where quest is the internal name of the quest, and stage is the number of the stage you wish to complete." –RpehTCE 02:16, 14 January 2008 (EST)
So there it means nothing in the 360 version of Oblivion? -~~ —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hophi (talkcontribs).
Not quite nothing, as it might give you clues at certain stages but yeah - basically it's useless except on the PC. –RpehTCE 18:02, 14 January 2008 (EST)

[edit] Porphyritic Hemophilia

What and where can i cure the vampires disease cant find it in here. Its in early stages only suffering from fatigue damage tried to go to the chapel but tells me to repent my crimes which i have none, yet. if someone could tell me the quest i'd appreciate it thanks

There's more information here and then you need a Cure Disease effect to remove the disease. As far as the altars are concerned, you must have an an outstanding bounty or an infamy that is greater than your fame in order to receive that message. –RpehTCE 02:19, 18 February 2008 (EST)
