For information on the Mythic Dawn classes, see NPC Classes.

Not all members of the Mythic Dawn stay at the secret shrine in the Lake Arrius Caverns. Some are posing as regular townsfolk. This is not an issue until your identity is revealed to the Mythic Dawn after your theft of the Mysterium Xarxes during the Dagon Shrine quest. After this, Mythic Dawn agents will attack on sight until Light the Dragonfires (at the end of the Main Quest) is finished.

Usually, your only warning will be when they scream, "For Lord Dagon!", before they summon their Daedric armor. The agents will attack regardless of other townsfolk or guardsmen around, and may kill townsfolk or guards in order to attack you.

The Mythic Dawn agents attack due to a 100 point faction-wide decrease in disposition when you steal the Mysterium Xarxes. If an agent already had a 100 disposition toward you, it will not drop below 1, and they can still be engaged in conversation normally. Otherwise, using a combination of Charm, Speechcraft, and/or 100% Chameleon, you can raise an agent's disposition to the point where they will not attack you. Conversely, by deliberately lowering their disposition you can incite these agents to attack you well before stealing the Mysterium Xarxes. At the end of the Light the Dragonfires quest, the disposition drop is reversed. Therefore, any Mythic Dawn Agents who survive the Main Quest will no longer be hostile.

You may also encounter trouble with one before the Dagon Shrine quest. If you are, for example, traveling to Cloud Ruler Temple with Martin and Jauffre on the Weynon Priory Quest and you enter a town where a Mythic Dawn sleeper agent is walking around, Martin and Jauffre may attack and kill the agent.

If you opt to burgle their houses, you may get preemptive warning (if you didn't know they were agents already) by discovering Mythic Dawn paraphernalia in their house, such as a Mythic Dawn robe or one of the "Mythic Dawn Commentaries" volumes.

It is also possible to discover the identity of Mythic Dawn agents by leaving Lake Arrius Caverns immediately after talking to the door guard (before talking to Harrow). If a townsperson is an agent, he or she will say, "Greet the new day, brother/sister," as you approach, but will still have the same dialogue options as normal.

These people tend to be great people to murder and/or use their house for storage. Some agents carry important keys that you may loot without worrying about murder (no more high-level locks in castles to worry about).

The following table provides a full list of of Mythic Dawn agents. Unless stated otherwise, the agents are sleeper agents.
