Fortify Persuasion, despite the name, increases your Speech skill level directly—it does not only improve your persuasion ability. Therefore barter prices are affected by Fortify Persuasion, as well as covered by the separate Fortify Barter effect; see Fortify Barter effect for more details.

The following items use this effect but neither can be disenchanted:

• Amulet of Dibella
• Masque of Clavicus Vile

• The Amulet of Articulation also directly increases speech skill, but with a different effect named "Articulation."

Other

• The Blessing of Dibella and the Gift of Charity both provide +10 Speech. These two blessings can be active simultaneously.
• The Masque of Clavicus Vile also has the fortify barter enchantment, making it a very useful headpiece for purchases.

Notes

• Fortify Persuasion is the only randomly-generated potion effect that isn't also an alchemy effect, i. e. you can find or buy Fortify Persuasion potions, but not make your own.
